Anyone here use Vonage? Like it or not? |
|
I need a second line into the house as I am now working from home. My company pays a tech stipend, which is nice, but it's not a lot of money. With Vonage, I can get a business line for $15, which includes 500 long distance minutes, which is far more than enough minutes.
Anyone here with Vonage/ Like it- yes or no and please, tell me specifically why or why not.
Thanks!

But it does cut your phone calls off at the 4 hour mark. You can redial immediately though.
I have a different VOIP service, but I talk TO Vonage customers a lot and it seems fine from my end.

If you talk on one call for more than 240 minutes (4 hours), you get cut off, but you can re-dial immediately.
The sound quality is great. I'm very happy with it.

I saw a Vonage Commercial on TV last night and all the people they interviewed had only good things to say about it. :) :eyes:

Funny, I saw an infomercial for "The Silver bullet" food chopper and everyone there said the product was great, too! Interesting how the commercials always find the happy customers!

It can't be beat, price wise.
However, there are several things we don't like:
- repeating echo of your own voice. - must wait several seconds before redialing another number. - very noisy, ie, all incoming calls sound TOO loud. - periods of dropped calls.
My hubbie works for Verizon and despite the above inconveniences we think it's well worth it. Also, we recently moved and liked the fact that we could take our number with us.

AT&T keeps trying to reach me to come back - but with the wonderful caller ID you get with it, I just ignore them.

It was cheaper than Vonage at the time. I'm very pleased with it. Most of time, it sounds as good as any land line phone.
Free long distance to all the N. Americas and western europe in my plan too (or a credit for more minutes than I am likely to use, as the per minute charge is so low).
If you decide to go with them, pm me for my phone number to use as a referral, and I think you get a bit of an extra deal thru the "referred by a friend" method on the website.

No one can tell it's not a POTS (plain old telephone service) line.

11. I use it as my only phone service and I love it.... |

It works great. I used to have multi-hundred dollar phone bills, and now I pay a flat $25 per month. No long distance charges. Free voice mail, caller ID, etc. What's not to like? Vonage is great!
