Any melanoma patients here? Someone dear to me has been diagnosed with a liver tumor after Melanoma

He is the most wonderful man. 45 and strong as an ox.

Had a very deep melanoma carved out of his back two years ago.

Last week, he went in to his doc for general fatigue and they found a mass on his liver.

He is scheduled for a biopsy and brain scan on Wednesday.

This is a great guy. He had a rough period in his life when he was a heroin junky and an alcoholic. He's been sober and clean for 20 years and has risen through the ranks of our state AA organization. He has helped hundreds of people to lead clean, sober and good lives.

This is a good man and I am sick about this news.

Could the liver mass be a fluke? Benign? I guess we'll have to see.

Meanwhile, any good vibes you can send to this man would be most appreciated. He deserves it.

5. I'm sending you a bit of hope ...

My husband has been battling cancer since his diagnosis in Dec. 1997. His has also metastasized to his liver. Due to the chemotherapy he has been on (Gemcitabine aka Gemzar) the tumors have so far been kept in check. He goes through cycles of chemo - has a scan to check the status of the tumors - and then normally has a break of a few months to enjoy his life. I know that each case is different.
My thoughts are with you and your friend.

7. My brother died of melanoma, on Dec 23rd, 1981. He was 33 years old.

Our family has never been the same. He was the 3rd oldest, middle of 6 kids, we miss him so much. He was that glue that really kept us all together. My father and mother has since died, and the 5 kids left aren't as close as we should be. *sigh* I miss him especially around this time of year. :cry:
