after being on hold for more than a freakin' hour. :banghead:
Guess I should add that Bernie Ward's a talk-radio dude and KGO is an ABC affiliate in San Francisco. It's a boomer station (50,000 watts) that also streams on the internets. They claim 2 million listeners for his show.

He was talking about the Knicks-Nuggets brawl and how basketball has so much more of that type of violence than other sports. So, naturally, I had to defend baseball's honor, since baseball fights are more like tea dances compared to basketball.
(Bernie's not a sports-talk dude. He picks topics that are in the news. About half the time it's politics — he's very liberal, btw — and the other half is everything else.)

I've listened to Bernie before. He's pretty good. Most of the time in baseball, when the benches clear, most of the guys are trying to keep a few guys from beating the shit out of each other and harming the team. I agree; most of the fights in baseball are tea parties compared to the fights in other sports.

He's just a guy, y'know? Rough around the edges. But then he turns around and fronts that Thanksgiving charity the station has, and you can tell his heart's really in it.
Now, the guy who normally follows him, Ray Taliaferro... :eyes: He's not there this week, though, and covering for him is Marcy Smothers, Tom's wife.
