Heh, when I was barely thirteen, I went to babysit for this family:

"Oh, we have a dog, by the way. You aren't allergic or anything, are you?"

"Oh, no. We have dogs, too."

"Good. Her name is Kitty and she's in the back."

(this family lived in temps in Frankfurt, so the apartment was huge...big, long hallway with seven bedrooms)

I get the kids to bed and sit on the couch to do my homework. About 1/3 of the way into my Algebra, it feels like someone's watching me. I look up...and up...and up....and up....

at Kitty.

I was expecting some little cockapoo or some little ankle-biter thing...it was an aparment (albeit a big one) and the dog's name was 'Kitty' and I was thirteen.

I nearly had a heart attack. But she was the sweetest, gentlest animal I've ever met.

my Haley is the most gentle, sweetest companion I have ever had. Always there to cheer me up when I needed it, there to lean up against me when I'm feeling bored, there to bark at me when I stop walking around the park with her.
