Quick question. Has anyone else stopped working for the week?
I work out of my house and have pretty much killed any hopes of work for the day, week, and month. This time of year is slow for me anyway. I have wrapped up my limited shopping today, and the family will be descending on Thursday for more than a week. I called my local pub to find out if they have an early happy hour and they have expanded it for the rest of the year to be starting at 4pm. So it looks like, I'm pretty much done.

I hope that the rest of you can knock off early and have a personal holiday before the family holiday. This is my first Christmas, or winter solstice, or whatever is PC, since my divorce and I'm not ready to see all of the family for the extended holiday. I need a little "mental floss" to prepare me for the onset.

Good luck to all of you guys and gals out there.

1. Nope. Doing my annual pre-christmas crazy database migration from hell.
Scheduled, as usual, for the week before christmas.

2. Unfortunately not
med students don't get too many breaks. I've got 3 exams tomorrow and had 6 already since this past friday. Ugh. I will, however, probably drive straight from exams tomorrow back home to New York. My brain is very, very tired.

3. Sort-of
I'm showing up, and doing what ABSOLUTELY must be done, but, heh, here I am right now!! I am such the slacker!!

I would kill for 2-3 days, no job, no kid, to just veg out and let that mental spring unwind before it goes flipping crazy. I usually get about 4 days between xmas and newyears to do this, as Dropkid goes to visit my grannies in Iowa with my parents, but I'm going this year. I can't wait. 12 hours (twice!!) in a car with my hyperactive motormouth 6 year old and my hypercritical always somehting to bitch about mother (Me and my dad get along great, but mom gets pissed when we shoot the shit for too long :wtf: )

Enjoy your days of flossing!!

5. Nope.
I'm here all week (ok, half day on Friday)...and I work at a Catholic school. It's just not fair.

Meanwhile, Hollywood has totally shut down and my roomie is off until early January. Again, I say...NOT FAIR! Oh, and did I mention that one of her clients sent a masseuse to her office for Christmas? Everyone got a free 30 minute massage.

Bitter, party of one, your table is ready.

7. I stopped working after Turkey Day.
Don't tell my boss though. Seriously, I'm done on Thursday, but only until Tuesday. What I wouldn't give for a couple of weeks off.
