A plane crashed near my house this morning.

This crash site just a couple of miles from my house. I was at work when the plane crashed, so I missed it all.

1. I've seen a few in person, from the ground. Not pretty. My first one was like out of an action

movie. We were driving down the road next to the flight line, this is on an Army base. I was in the back of a pickup. Saw a smaller private jet type airplane come crashing nose first into the tarmac. He had taken off, done a loop and tried to land because of some failure. He didn't quite make it and landed on his nose. I saw all this from the truck. Then we stopped to see if we could do anything.

One of the crew chiefs came running up to the jet with his crew. Flames are all around, this chief jumps up on the nose and with his gloved hand, starts pounding on the windshield of the jet. He busted through and pulled out the pilot, threw him over his shoulders and hauled ass back down the flight line before the jet exploded. WOW!

There you go. Lost control of the aircraft in IMC. Very common cause of general aviation accidents. It is possible a medical condition may have caused it though. It sounds as if the plane didn't lose power.

I have dreams of plane crashes all the time. I know of only one that occurred near where I lived at the time though. Tragic!

I saw two planes collide at an air show, and both went down. It was horrifying...the wings clipped, a fireball erupted, and only one pilot ejected. :(

PLANE IN GILROY CRASH MISSING FROM SAN JOSE FLIGHT SCHOOL

GILROY (BCN)

Authorities believe that the small airplane that crashed into a tank of raw sewage at a Gilroy wastewater treatment facility Monday afternoon was the same twin-engine Beechcraft Travelair plane that left a flight school in San Jose earlier that afternoon.

According to a news statement from Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor, officials from the treatment plant reported that rescue crews won't be able to reach the wreckage until the tank, 20 feet deep and 25 feet in diameter, is drained this afternoon.

Rescue crews did find a flight log and a Japanese passport near the scene of the crash Monday, Gregor said. Officials confirmed that a flight instructor and two students, all Japanese citizens, were on board

The San Jose flight school Nice Air reported that it was missing a twin-engine aircraft around 5:30 p.m. Monday. The Beechcraft Travelair departed from Reid-Hillview Airport at 1 p.m. Monday, Gregor said.

According to authorities at the scene, rescue crews were unable to reach the aircraft, see inside it or obtain a tail number.

The tank that is 20 feet deep and 25 feet in diameter will have to be sterilized before investigators can climb inside.
