If you remember how far it was from my house to Stansted Airport, then my mum's house is a little bit less far in the opposite direction.

I have managed to save my three days vacation remaining ever since I returned from Canada until now, so I get all of next week off. :woohoo:

The weekend before last I was at the dealer because my car was having its annual inspection. I got talking to one of the salesmen and asked if I could use the trade-in value of my car to settle the finance. He said sure, people do that all the time, and gave me a valuation for my current car. It will give me enough value to settle the finance, so early in the new year I will go back and arrange a test drive.

I think I will get one of these:

Not quite a Passat, but bigger than a Golf. It has a hatch-style rear, but styled like a family saloon.

The particular version I want is the VRS, which has the 200PS turbo engine. :7
