:scared: They say we are going to get 30 inches of snow. Here's what it looks like outside right now:

We are expected to get 3-4 feet of snow by tomorrow afternoon. I think anyone who went to work today in the Denver/Boulder area is crazy.

13. Where are the snow plows?
I lived in Denver for eight years and the first snow storm I ever had to drive in was (in 92) from the Springs to Denver. Not being familiar with snow I couldn't figure out why all the drivers were getting off at Monument Hill. lol

By the time I got home the mayor had closed the city offices. It was quite the training in snow driving.

Stay inside and keep warm.

18. No, blizzard in Denver, snowing is like sky being blue...
Edited on Wed Dec-20-06 01:30 PM by originalpckelly
kind of used to that.

The blizzard we are having is like a snowacane. (Sister to hurricane.)

It even looks the same on a satellite map:
http://www.wunderground.com/

Looks like a big hurricane when it's about to break up, on the map.

The low seems to be centered on the Oklahoma-Texas Panhandle border.

19. white chirstmas

it will only be a white christmas if it snows until late Sunday night. If it stops today or tomorrow, the snow will have a heavy grey-dirty tinge to it by Monday.

So enjoy the beauty of the fresh-fallen snow while we can... :bounce:

I have to go to the grocery this afternoon, fortunately it's walking distance, so I will get to get out and enjoy the snow a bit.

Front yard snow. There is supposed to be a walkway and cul-de-sac in the front. The trashcan marks where the sidewalk ends and the cul-de-sac begins.

Edited on Wed Dec-20-06 03:01 PM by reyd reid reed
Can't even see the highway from my house (and it's only a couple of hundred yards away). Can barely see the house across the street. Nasty, nasty. I have no idea what the snow totals are -- just that we're supposed to get a foot.

Wonderful. And we're supposed to get more over the weekend. It's not like I don't have any errands to run; kids were supposed to go see Santa tonight. We haven't had a white Christmas in a long time, but I wasn't thinking 'blizzard'. I was thinking more in terms of 2 inches of snow that falls in big, fluffy flakes.

This is just...nasty.

x(

edited to add the two traffic cams near my house, since my camera is STILL MIA:

49. Oh, I hope your husband gets home OK.
I just got back from a walk to the local coffee shop, a run by the post office, and a walk back to the house to start shoveling. 75 feet of sidewalk plus an alley entrance and porch steps -- two hours of work.

Bless you for being a good neighbor, too. When it gets bad like this, there's always someone looking for a little help.

After 6 and 1/2 hours, the hubbie made it home. Remember, his drive is normally only a half hour. The car is abandoned at the bottom of our hill and a coworker left his car at a Safeway and came home with my husband.

I'm rather shocked they came before it stopped snowing. Of course, there's still a good 6" of snow on the road, even after they came. And now, my Bronco has another 3 feet of snow dumped on the back end of it. Better start shovelling...
