Someone sent us three $100 bills in a padded envelope. Inside there was a note that said "Merry Christmas! from a DU'er who's been there". There was no return address, although it had a Los Angeles postmark.

I understand if you want to remain anonymous. So this thread is my way of thanking you. If you want to identify yourself, but not publicly--my PM's are open.

Thank you so damned much, whoever you are.

Edit: Just so you know, your gift made the following possible:

1. Getting the electric bill paid before it was due to be shut off on the 26th.
2. Paying my Mom's phone bill, which is critical because she's a heart patient recovering from bypass surgery and unable to work right now.
3. We'll have enough to get a ham for Christmas dinner.

I'd also like to thank the DU'er who sent my son the LeapPad and the Superman Muscle Suit. You didn't include a username, so I'm not sure who you are, but...thank you. And eternal thanks to everyone else who helped us in the past two weeks. I wish I could find you all and hug you to pieces.

5. Yes, it certainly does.

It also got our electricity bill paid just a week before it was due to be cut-off. It also helped me pay my very ill mother's phone bill.

It was just a miracle. And it wasn't the first one we've gotten this year, either. Not even this *week*. DU has been INCREDIBLE. So many people are helping us to give our little one a good Christmas and stay afloat until January, when my partner gets her student aid check.

I am literally crying right now.
