What are the other CSI shows like? (Miami and NY)
I don't watch them simply because they don't have Gil Grissom. I like his character and he's the main reason I watch CSI in the first place. I've been a fan of Petersen since 'Manhunter' and I like the fact that his character bases all conclusions on evidence, not a "gut feeling."

So what are the other shows like?

3. Miami is freakin' awful, but that's just because of David Caruso.
The rest of the cast is fine, but Caruso is so predictable, we watch it just to see if we can predict what he's going to do or say. Sunglasses on, sunglasses off, repeat a phrase for emphasis. Classic stuff.

5. He is so over the top it's almost like watching an Ed Wood film.

I actually laugh out loud whenever I catch him in a scene or two on A&E. The term, "chewing the scenery" was invented for the likes of him.

On edit: I love the original CSI. Grissom is such a great character.

6. I say Caruso is second place on that show for awfulness...
closely trailing the blonde lady. Holy crap, is she bad.

4. I don't like either Miami or NY - they seem all
trumped up and phony-overdramatic. I, too, have liked Petersen since Manhunter, and like his character on CSI. Horatio Hornblower Asshole David Caruso would keep me from watching anything, and I don't like Sinise, either, since he went all "we do good stuff in Iraq, too, like paint schools!!!". Miami is dull, with bad actors. NY is pretty much the same. Seems like terrible writing, too - the dialogue has always struck me as completely ridiculous.

I was thinking of starting a thread like this a few days ago - how I actually enjoy the original show and catch reruns on Spike, but LOATHE the other two...

7. I love CSI:NY
the cast is fabulous, and I think the stories are interesting as well.

I can't stand CSI:Miami. David Caruso annoys me greatly.

8. Miami is
very colourful, and NY is very blue. At least, to my eye they are :D

9. If you keep kosher or halal, stay away from Miami - Caruso is the hammiest actor in the world
I actually howl with laughter at CSI: Miami - not to say that the Vegas show is realistic, but Miami is *so* over the top!

"You know what Alex? Sometimes when you have everything..."

Remove sunglasses, cast eyes upward to sky, squint.

"...sometimes it feels like nothing."

10. David Caruso stands around with his hands on his hips like George Reeves as Superman.
Edited on Wed Dec-20-06 06:02 PM by Blue in Portland
It was kind of cool when Superman did it, but I would like to just smack Caruso upside the head. There's a bit of "I'm so sexy" posing on the Vegas show, too, but the guilty parties actually ARE sexy, so it's forgivable. CSI Miami is so bad I haven't even attempted to watch New York.

I, too, like Gil Grissom immensely.

edited for stupidity.
