I get smarter as I get older.
Last year LeftyKid only wanted one thing for Christmas, a remote-controlled pterodactyl from the Discovery store. At ten on Christmas eve, long after the mall had closed, he called to tell me he hadn't got it. There was a great deal of crying on Christmas morning. So I did what I always do when I'm upset, I called up the most wonderful man in the universe, who without being asked, took it on himself to take care of my son on Christmas and save the day. :loveya:

So it's Christmas again and once again, LeftyKid only wants one thing. Yet again, his Dad wants to get it and score brownie points with the kid. He swears he'll get it.

This year I bought it anyhow. I'll tuck it away and produce it if/when the jerk that spawned LeftyKid flakes out this year and return it if I don't need it.

7. Dad is fired.
:( The really crappy thing, since you bought them months ago you probably can't take them back.

13. I hope they take them back...I didn't think about that.
:(

Yeah, it is tough enough raising happy healthy kids, without the complications. You seem to be doing an incredible job , regardless.

 Leftykid is a very lucky kid indeed.

16. Well, all the ones I made last night are boxed up and ready to head to flvegan's house.
But a while back I promised MAHNY I'd send him some, so I'm making his today and I wanted to make you some too. I have the stuff for chocolate chip (w/ or w/o walnuts,) white chocolate macademia, and for oatmeal fudge.

10. Why doesn't my tree look like that?
Oh, because I managed to get Treezilla, wrestle it into the house, find a big enough stand and stand it up, but I haven't decorated it yet. :D Tomorrow.

12. He has two great kids, other than that he's worthless.
Perhaps that's what I'll put on his tombstone, should it fall to me (and it might, no sibs and his parents are old) "At least he made good kids."

Oh shit, I just remembered I have to get him a present that'll be from LeftyKid, his birthday's next week. Crap.

15. don't you hate that?
I always had to get *him* birthday, Christmas presents from the kid. And his parents and sister and brother in law...... and later his partner, too. Although, *he* NEVER got me - or my family - anything "from her".

One year I felt sorry for him and invited him to "spend Christmas" with us. The SOB woke up our daughter and told her to come downstairs - WITHOUT ME! - (though he denied it - she NEVER EVER went downstairs without me -) I heard them, woke up and went downstairs.

After he opens his present from her, she says, "Mommy, what did I get you for Christmas?" I had to tell her something that was from my parents was from her. sigh
