http://pasadena.wr.usgs.gov/shake/STORE/X51177042/ciim_display.html3.7 magnitude 9 km (5.6 miles) Pretty short (20-30 seconds max) but a strong jolt at first, then some rumbling. It was definitely on the Hayward fault, which runs directly under my neighborhood...

We were in downtown Oakland at the time in a 100+ year old building taking a dance class. I was scared shitless because I knew from the length of the quake and the strength of the jolt that the epicenter was fairly close and I thought that maybe it was a foreshock to a larger quake and that a "big one" would hit and I would be stuck in that building and the thing would come crumbling to the ground. But everything turned out fine. :)
