1. You should be out for a walk.
You know, the fresh autumn air, and all that.

15. I rented the DVD of this recently and saw it for the first time. The first half
was great, but then it all fell apart for me and became quite laughable. Maybe it's showing it's film age.

2. I turned it on when the hubby went to the kitchen.
When he came back, he said, "Could we please watch something a bit...less...heavy?"

I have never seen the movie. Must rent it when said partner goes away again for work.

3. It's a must-see.
Edited on Thu Dec-21-06 12:04 AM by CanuckAmok
It's the definitive American gangster movie; it's completly violent and excessive, while telling s simple story of one man's rise and fall.

It's even more enjoyable now because of its dated look and over-the-top performances. Even the set design, which was au current in the decadent Eighties, is just ridiculous.

It's a masterpiece of excess; it has managed to capture the 1980s in ways the producers could have only imagined.

"Hello, pelicans!"

It's gotta be seen, although it is insanely violent.

6. Don't get me wrong, I was totally in the mood to watch it tonight.
But I tuned in at the beginning, 10:30pm and it was supposed to end at 2am. Granted, I would have stayed up and been there the whole time, but I gotta think of my man as well.

Can't wait to give it some time. It'll probably be on my own terms which is fine by me.

12. "definitive American gangster movie"
Scarface is right up there, but Goodfellas is really the definitive American gangster movie, IMO.

16. That's a good call.
I think you're right. Particularly as Scarface hasn't aged very well, except in the sense that's it's become quite camp.

7. AMC ruins movies by deleting and dubbing scenes and dialogue.
The worst place EVER to watch a movie. I hate that lame channel.

11. If you like violent, mob-themed movies
then it's one of the best.

If not, you might want to pass.

10. It was originally rated "X" for the violence; had to edit prior to release
Must be the most insanely violent movie ever.

I once watched the first 20 minutes and I didn't have the stomach for it. I was like 18 then..I should give it another "shot".

18. That's remarkable.
It's very violent, but the violence doesn't compare to some of the more recent movies' levels of violence. I'm referring to, for example, Pulp Fiction, Hannibal, and Starship Troopers, none of which were ever targeted for an "X".
