OMG, I'm getting old!
Watching The Colbert Report, and Peter Frampton is on. I have his Frampton Comes Alive album, and haven't seen a picture of him since the cover shot on that album.

Now, his hair is SHORT, and WHITE, and he's going BALD! (He can still play a mean guitar, though.)

Man, I gotta get out more!

He was looking pretty bald then too. I was 2 in 1976, so Frampton getting old doesn't faze me much. What does get me is that Prince, Madonna and Michael Jackson are all pushing 50.

All of a sudden he was the "cute" one, and his label wanted him to record teenybopper crap. Fucking shame, since he's considered one of the best session guitarists in the business.

Remember his next album?

69. Gettin old is better than the alternative...well maybe not....
...the gettin younger alternative...then again...no wait...maybe a do-over would work say about age 21...then you could chum up with that Gates fellow from Crabwell Corners...or was he from Crabwell Corners, no that would have been that fella who married my sister's best friend Edna, boy could she cook a mean pot-roast...

Ok so much for my Hank Kimbal imitation..... I enjoyed Peter Frampton's guitar even before he went solo in the band Humble Pie. I was 16 back in '70 when we got to see them, my second concert ever! (Pink Floyd was first). He left that band just after recording "Rockin the Filmore" It was perhaps 3-4 years later if memory serves that I got to see him on his Frampton Comes Alive tour in Seattle. He had another Solo artist open for him: Gary Wright, (remember "Dream Weaver"?). Gary Wright was someone whom I had also enjoyed in an earlier band called "Spooky Tooth".

Colbert Show rocked off the hook tonight, Frampton is as classy as ever and he won imho.

(Just in case: "Hank Kimball": He was in a "...Filmways Presentation Dahling." ...does that help?)
