HOT.BUTTERED.RUM.

I make this every Christmas. Our family loves this, and expect it every year. I think they'd lynch me if I didn't make it.


My recipe:

1 pound butter-softened
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1 Tablespoon honey
1 pint vanilla ice cream (I use Haagen Daas)-softened

Cream together the butter, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey. Mix in ice cream until well combined. Store in a 4 cup freezer safe container. It will not freeze solid.
To serve:
spoon about 1/3 c. ice cream mixture into a cup. Pour in 1/2 c. boiling water and add a shot (or two) of rum. This is also good without the rum...but what's the fun in that?
