Finally finished with the holiday shopping. I hate the mall this time of year. Well, the Mall Parking lot, not so much the mall. It wasn't that bad. I nearly got ran down this evening when I was trying to leave the parking lot. People weren't paying attention to the rules of driving. They were just pulling out in front of people. And I was talking to a girl tonight in one of the stores I went into. She said people are yelling at them because they are selling out of items. One guy even told her he thought she was being racist and just wouldn't sell it to him. She was like, Why do I give a crap who I sell what to? Ridiculous. Thank God I'm not in retail. And if you are in retail, here's a hug  I'm sure you need it about now. Duckie

It's better than Quail this time of year and only a few blocks from work. Duckie

It was so weird in there tonight. It felt like a meat market. All these high school and college kids cruising for dudes/chicks. Duckie

4. That is terrible that people treat the salesclerks like that. |

Edited on Thu Dec-21-06 08:30 PM by femmocrat
It's bad enough they have to work ungodly hours and be on their feet the entire time. People can be really ignorant. Yet, I have never met a rude salesclerk (at least that I can remember)!

12. Malls are kind of a bad idea altogether. |
|
At least in execution. I mean, for all intents and purposes it is the modern world version of the bazaar. If it were more like just an indoor street market, it would be a lot more interesting and worthwhile.
They seemed a lot more interesting when malls were a fairly new thing.....but now all the malls are pretty carbon copys of one another. Pottery Barn, Nordstrom, Macy's, Sears, JCPenny, Cinnabon, Orange Julius, Spencers, Barnes and Noble, Software Etc, Sbarro, The Gap, and out of ALL the stores in the mall, you'd be hard pressed to not walk into almost any mall in the country and find almost the exact same hundred or so stores.
As it is, about the only time I step foot in a mall anymore is because a movie I am seeing is there.

14. this time of year, i am EXTRA patient to the salespeople... |
|
I figure they've had to deal with a few hundred miserable a-holes already, so a 'pleasantness break' couldn't help but make things easier for a minute or two.
I worked retail for a dozen years total, and i would be loathe to go back to it. I'd much rather do what i do, and play with food.

15. I was tempted to key somebody's car the other day |
|
I was making the turn into a one-way aisle in the parking lot when the very first space was opening up.
A person who had already passed the soon to be open space slammed on their brakes and hit reverse - thereby going the wrong way - and blocked my way into the space and took the space.
If I was by myself, I would not have minded that much, but I was with my 3 1/2 year old daughter and any parking spaces close to the entrance are a blessing.

A woman complained to me last night because she ddn't like how our shopping bags smelled. But she didn't want a bag that didn't have handles. I'm still not sure exactly what she thought I was supposed to do about that.
