7. This was purely accidental
A typo, if you must know — while I was attempting to type "hat."

The "herk" bit was entirely contrived. Kinda like "shock and awe" or "mission accomplished."

:P

12. That's cool.
I didn't know about that, though I knew the port of New Orleans took in a lot of famine Irish. Nasty stories about that.

20. I've got it! I've got it! I've been looking for a word for this...
...It's what I do every morning in the shower when the steam hits my lungs, and what's left of 13 years of smoking
comes up and leaves my mouth. At least, it sure sounds like that word.

Yat! Yat!

24. C'mon this is the lounge for Petesake....
Every cat owner knows that "yat" is the sound kitty makes when coughin' up a furball.

So why did I, a known dog owner, have to be the one to explain this to ya'll?

26. a Young Adolescent Twit
A "yat" is an upper-class twit still in an English "public" school...they're still working on removing training bras, waking up neighbors with their bikes, they heap abuse on MacDonald's employees, and they can't--quite--even try to jump over a matchbox... "Yat". Works for me...

29. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but this is not new
I know from college days when I lived in New Orleans. N'awlins natives idiom for "where are you" as in where are you in the book we have to read for history, was "Where yat" Not being from New Orleans, we referred to them as "Yats"
