So I had a note on my car
...written in the condensation on the driver's rear window when leaving for work this morning. "Don't bang my car door!" Um? Not me, and slightly random too. Who is the message from? Am looking to avoid anything worse like a keying, though. I'm thinking non-response and simply parking elsewhere may do the trick to show I am not a door-ding culprit. Can anyone else think of some diplomatic solutions? Or maybe a humorous one?

1. Maybe just a weird warning?

If there is condensation, you could write a reply. :)

But just parking somewhere else is probably best.

2. I would write in the condensation:
"I don't bang anything that doesn't buy me dinner."

4. I wouldn't be diplomatic at all...
I'd leave a unwrapped baby ruth on the windshield w/ message "Eat Me"

8. This was before you left for work?
Do you park in a lot? Assigned space?

Maybe a neighbor thinks you slam the door too loud when you close it.

Or, maybe just a kid writing dumb messages.

9. While parked at my complex
Edited on Fri Dec-22-06 11:03 AM by BluePatriot
We don't have assigned spaces. So, I figure I will just move off to the spots by the dumpster no one parks in. I know they must be talking about door "dings" since my car has gotten several also since living here. Big, giant, not-paying-any-attention-at-all ones.

I guess just their version of a warning or note or request. Maybe they did it to other peoples' car windows too.

*edit: Yes, before leaving for work. I am being so productive today!*

10. Two reasons to not worry:
Don't worry, because
1. It was written in the condensation, not scratched in the paint or spraypainted on the windshield, so he's either not sure or not too pissed, and ...
2. Today is Global Orgasm day. Good attitudes are the order of the day.

11. Yeah.
I should just feel lucky that it wasn't keyed. Still, I hate randomness sometimes. It really hits home that you have no control over what might happen to you/your stuff based on someone you don't know messing around or making assumptions. Like we don't have enough stress in our lives already! No wonder I have turned hermit. Makes me wish I could afford a house and garage.

13. Maybe someone was trying to prevent your door from being banged
Kind of like the "wash me" messages that are written in dirt...

15. Oddly that's what I thought
at first, and I checked with hubby and dad (who did work on the car recently)

And the side doors are fairly dinged up, hehe.

Who knows. I will just let it go if nothing else happens.
