I hate being sick
My nose is running like a faucet, I have a headache, and my voice is half way to lost. I took some cold meds to help me sleep last night, but they wore off at about 5:45 and I haven't been able to get back to sleep since.

*blech*

Call around to some local health food type places and ask if they carry OLBAS. It's an herbal thing, oil for inhaling in steam or drinking in tea, balm to rub on your head. I would have gone nuts without it last night.

Get better. Nasty bugs about this year. Almost headed to the hospital myself yesterday.

2. Oh gosh, I hope you're doing ok
Thanks for the recomendation, I'll check it out at the co-op. Luckily, we got the low end of our snowfall prediction this morning (predicted 0-9 inches, it looks like 2-3 out there), so I can still run around town.

5. If you believe
that old cliche: "Misery loves company", cheer up! I had the exact same symptoms Wednesday and have been miserable ever since. I have to postpone Christmas until New Year's so I don't share this with my family. *Blech* is right.

I want to fast forward to New Years!

6. Man, I'm sorry...
I hope you start feeling better soon. Last Xmas, everyone in our litle household got sick...my wife got it first...she got it from a very careless, dumb, naive, idiotic coworker who insisted on coming to work puking sick...then tammy spread it to my friend tom, and then it jumped to my father/mother in law...I was the only non-causuality...thank heavens for that. I was on the run for most of xmas week/new years week...

8. You too?
My husband gave me his cold, and I'm experiencing the same symptoms. Drinking plenty of green tea with honey, and chicken soup. It couldn't come at a worse time, because I've got gifts to wrap, and fudge to make for my neighbor, and not one ounce of strength to do any of it.

Take care, and get well soon! :hi:

12. Try a norovirus...
Edited on Fri Dec-22-06 08:26 PM by eauclaireliberal
Eau Claire County Health Dept. issued a health alert yesterday on my nursing facility: 48 residents, 19 visitors, 29 staff (now 30, with me) have been affected with a nasty little bug that keeps you on the toilet, with a trash bucket between your legs-it is coming out both ends. I've managed to ease some of that with a prescription of compazine that has ceased emisis. On top of that there is abdominal cramping and headache, but no major fever.

Despite all this, I am quite thankful. All I keep thinking about is the fact that that health alert closes the facility to visitors which means that there's quite of few of my residents whose Christmas plans are now shitcanned. I feel sorry for them...I have the option of a home to go to after the shift is done. Since I will be working on Christmas Day, I plan to figure out how to lift spirits as much as I can. I just hope I don't mess my scrubs in the process...

*edited to get the organism spelled correctly*
