So I'm walking through the parking lot at work telling a colleague of mine a funny/tragic story when another colleague walks up and starts in on work related bullshit with the guy I'm talking to. No "excuse me" or "Sorry but this is really important (it wasn't)" or "please forgive my butting in." This really pisses me off and it seems to happen fairly frequently. I feel like taking it up with her or writing a note explaining how incredibly rude I think it is, but maybe I'm over reacting. Is it rude or what?

3. It's rude, but don't write the note |
|
It would almost certainly come back to haunt you.
In a setting that's proximal to work, some people may assume that a work-related discussion takes precedence over leisure conversation. In some cases that may be true, but even then a quick "excuse me" is all that's needed to elminate confusion.
The colleague was rude to butt in, but the note would be a mistake unless the rudeness happens often or escalates.
