What do you buy for people who buy everything they want? |
|
We have to buy presents for husbands parents. His mother is a shopoholic and buys everything that they want that we could reasonably afford. She has accumulated a lot of junk over the years. We're going shopping soon.

6. Personally, I buy them a bottle of wine |
|
If, of course, they drink wine. But it's something that can be immediately enjoyed and isn't something that matters if they already have it.

after a certain age everybody pretty much already has everything that you could afford to buy as an appropriate gift except for consumables
as for people who don't drink i would rather not have to exchange gifts with them at all but some other consumable gift like chocolate might work, although so many people now get pissed off at being loaded down with food and chocolate over the holidays...

8. Wine.com gift certificate (or a like gift) |
|
Satisfies three things:
1. Need to get a gift; 2. Her desire to shop: 3. The non-accumulation of crap, as wine will be consumed.

12. My in-laws are the same way.... |
|
For my MIL, we (and by "we" I mean "I") got a 3 month subscription to a flower bouquet of the month club and beautiful monogrammed guest soaps. For my FIL, we got a 3 month subscription to a wine of the month club and a fun monogrammed branding iron for when he grills his steaks.
I had a lot of luck with www.redenvelope.com this year for unique gift ideas.
