I wonder why they didn't add "I Wanna Be Sedated" or "The KKK Took My Baby Away"?

4. Further proof
that almost no adults, and certainly not the managers of any sports venue, know the lyrics to "Blitzkrieg Bop."

Ramones for Kids, yeah! Shoot 'em in the back, now! :bounce:

5. Oh my...
I really don't know what to say to this. I want to say it kicks ass, but this is just so friggin bizarre. And here I was hoping Pet Cemetary would be on there, you know, to help kids deal with the loss of a beloved pet.

11. How about this Devo cover for kids?

I don't understand why kids can't just listen to Devo or the Ramones? (And I'm a parent. Hey, it's rock and roll!)

I don't get these "kid friendly" covers. Either you're going to let your kids listen to them or not. Why the covers?

29. Here's the thing...IT'S REALLY DEVO!!!
Yes, there are kids singing instead of Mothersbaugh, Casale, etc., but the backing band IS Devo, and the project was overseen by Gerald Casale. Check out the videos sometime, which are full of classic Devo imagery. Not to mention it's got the first two new Devo songs in ages.

27. But of course!! London Calling is in regular rotation!
And she knows it's "Rock the Casbah". The kid is seriously cool, WAY cooler than I was as a kid. This is what she insisted on being for Halloween last year, but it had to be scary!

30. As a music teacher, I have a different opinion on collections like these...
Small children usually learn activities like music by imitating. As a male music teacher, I've found that if I try to sing in my normal voice, kindergarten students will try to sing like me, which is about two octaves below their reach. I often have to sing in a falsetto voice to model the correct range. Albums that feature children singing allow students to imitate children their age singing in their range (rather than trying to imitate an adult singing in falsetto).

Does this mean I won't play my own children the regular Ramones albums? Hell, no. Of course I will. But albums like this and "The Bingo Kids Sing Beatles Hits For Kids" (www.bingorecords.com) help kids to develop their singing voices in a natural manner without having to subject their parents to Raffi or Sharon, Lois and Bram.

32. Some recommended kids music: Trout Fishing In America
Yes, named after the book. Probably the best kids group out there, hands down, although they do music for adults as well. They've become big enough in the Philadelphia area that they have a summer concert every year nicknamed "Troutstock." My wife and I have been attending for years and singing along to the kids songs, even though we don't have any kids. (Admittedly, this will change within the week.)
