I spent my morning baking |
|
I made Peanut Butter cookies (my SO's favorite - he's working today so it will be a surprise) and Snowball cookies (those tasty little round shortbread cookies with chopped nuts in them and rolled in confectioner's sugar).
Tomorrow we're having my SO's homemade Cioppino for dinner and on Christmas, we'll have a ham dinner. Just the two of us.
Anyone else been baking or cooking?

2. I'll trade you some decorated sugar cookies for a few PBs |
|
My SO hates peanut butter cookies and I'm afraid to make a whole batch just for me. He makes Russian tea balls (like the snowballs that you described) and I haul out the cookie cutters and make sugar cookies with colored sugar sprinkled on top.
We're have prime rib here this weekend and on Christmas we'll be with friends so no cooking.

I've made several dozen Peanut Butter Cup cookies, Strawberry Jam Filled Thumbprint Cookies, Hershey's Kiss Cookies, and Rum Balls. Tonight I have to make cutout sugar cookies, Nut Rolls, Italian Wedding Cookies (I think they're the same ones you called Snowball Cookies) and of course, Peanut Butter Balls.
I'll be doing a LOT of cooking in the next few days. xD

I have so many cookie recipes but since it's just the two of us, I try to keep it down to a couple of batches. But I LOVE thumbprint cookies and Rum Balls.
Maybe I'll continue the holiday cookie baking into January....

Good to know that neighborliness is still alive and well, at least in some places. :hi:

Up until about 8 years ago, I lived in Vermont. The last place I lived there was on a farm with several rentals. It was like a big happy family - my family and the people who lived upstairs and the people who rented the two trailers on the property regularly got together for cookouts or holiday dinners - no real planning just, "Hey, let's barbecue tonight!"
We all kept an eye on each others' kids and homes, were in and out of each others' places, helped out when needed, borrowed each others' vehicles, etc.
Nice way of life.

11. Yes I made cookies and pumpkin bread |
|

The cookies were a near disaster because I forgot to add the oil when I was supposed to (at the beginning). So I burned out a mixer trying to mix the dough. THen I realized I had forgotten the oil and then had to hand stir it in. They taste good though.
