New Year's Day record-buying spree
man, if this is indicative of the way I'll be spending 2004 my collection will double by March.

Leo Kottke, Chet Atkins, Bert Jansch, Stereolab, B-52s, Robert Fripp, Ry Cooder...

My ears are gonna be busy for a while.

1. Very interesting selection . . .
B-52's and Leo Kottke on the same list just seems odd :).

2. I stumbled on the Kottke by accident
in the $1 used vinyl bin. I'd never heard him before, but I like John Fahey a lot and heard Kottke mentioned in the same breath as him often, so for a buck I couldn't go wrong (and I'm glad I picked it up; what a great player).

As far as the B52's, for some reason they've owned a big chunk of my music consciousness for the past couple of months, and even I was starting to annoy myself with how much I was playing their firsat record.

4. Yup Kottke is very interesting :)
If it wasn't the Armadillo album, I highly recommend you pick it up, that's what made him a "star" :).

If you're into just excellent acoustic guitar work, also check out Martin Simpson, perhaps one of the best ever :).

5. Mudlark, not Armadillo
but I'll keep an eye out for Armadillo. I'll have to check into Martin Simpson too, I've heard a lot of good about him. Thanks for the recommendations.

3. Great! Enjoy
I have a $50 gift certificate for Best Buy, and I plan on buying at least 1 CD tomorrow - the Shins' Chutes Too Narrow - but I may save the rest. There are some CDs coming out early or fairly early this year that I'm looking forward to.
