1:10am EST - Just wondering, how many GD du'ers are out there tonight
Edited on Sun Dec-24-06 01:15 AM by The Straight Story
I was just up watching a show I taped and rolling a carton of smokes. Checked in here, seems slow :)

If you are out there - HI!!!

Seems awfully quiet here this evening. If you are lonely, etc, check in.

ASK ME ANYTHING - and I mean anything, and I will answer as honest as I can. Or just chime in and spout off.

3. It's been pretty quiet all evening.
I was out shopping earlier. Didn't have any money until yesterday, so having to scramble to get the Christmas presents. Lots of people are probably traveling to see family and friends. I was supposed to be one of them, but had to delay my trip until next weekend.

And, HI back to you! :pals:

49. I like gift bags.
You can use them over and over again - - just spare the Scotch tape - - and the very old and the very young can get to the present inside much easier.

Big Lots has all sizes really cheap. I know they're made in China or someplace, but if you find some that aren't, let me know!

Thanks for the shoutout. It's nice to have some folks to touch base with.

28. Holidays are hard on me too ...

I got all weepy earlier today, in the strangest of circumstances -- I was in a grocery store buying cheese, of all things. Started missing my cat Petey, who died this summer and really liked cheese and always got a hunk of it on Christmas, even though it wasn't good for him.

Came here later, helped a fellow DU-er with a computer problem, and I've been okay since.

I like this place. :-)

Good to see you too!

30. She is a history buff on the civil war
She reads and watches anything and everything she can on it. Also helped to inspire some of my poems (see my sig).

She knows more about the civil war then most people I know. For the 8 years we have been together she has been a student of it (videos and books). She also knows a lot about medical things and art.

I got her a 3 volume set on the civil war and a Matthew Brady book. SSSHHHHH!

Edited on Sun Dec-24-06 01:38 AM by nadinbrzezinski
had a fun day of cleaning house, not because of the holidays... brother and my sister in law are dropping in tomorrow for vacation and they are crashing here.

Hubby will be home by one, I hope... and me, getting a map done for a new fantasy setting I will be creating for next year

With the damn cold I cannot really concentrate on writing

45. I run a game company,
Edited on Sun Dec-24-06 02:05 AM by nadinbrzezinski
and I have a sci fi setting already and books ready to go...

Or on sale.

This will be a fantasy setting for Dungeons and dragons... just futzing with the map first, I have several cartography programs and decided to go for the real fancy one this time.

My sig has a link to the site

www.deistgames.com

Oh and I have tried to get some of my fiction published by MS publishers but off the record have been told they don't want it to deal with issues... well it is easier to hide them among dragons and dwarfs if you get my drift

Oh and one last thing... I have now written two novels for the sci fi setting, will start planning the third after the first of the year... and the second is far better due to the critique group... get one if you can

Earlier, I went to church today because I didn't want to go on Christmas day. I rather stay home and help my mom cook. I just finished wrapping all the presents I bought for my nieces and nephews. In the morning, there's a Christmas play I'm attending and will videotape that my niece will participate in. I'm ready for Christmas and happy that I have the whole week for vacation.

Hi all! :hi:

Sure nice to know you are out there in the middle of the night. I'm usually here everynight at this time, me and my goldfish. Rolling a Carton? I roll Midnight Special. Papers are included. I wrote and posted a short Christmas story yesterday about noon. Jessica About a kid who still believes in Santa and why. My cousin Sue died from a heart attack Friday and my friend Donna had one a few hours ago. Courtney's mom if you saw my earlier post. Heck of a holiday weekend. Ah well. I'm going to make a cup of Joe. More later maybe.

39. Just turned the kitchen light off
Put the chocolate cheesecake in the frig, hope it tastes good. I made a low-fat, alternative sweetener recipe. Everything's ready for Christmas Eve tomorrow, all the kids are coming for dinner and then we'll get together at my daughter's Christmas morning before they all take off to in-laws' houses. I have had such a joyous holiday season, I so wish every one of you will find some joy in yours too. I've had some pretty damned lousy ones when the kids were little, if I'd just known they actually forget 90% of Christmas anyway, maybe it would have made it easier to focus on the positive and just be glad we had each other to love. That really is all that matters.

It's almost 7pm Christmas eve where I am and almost no Christmas lights, so I gave my balcony a double dose much to the delight of the kids at the party next door. Wow! It really stands out when you are the only place on the hill with Christmas lights.
