Holy SHIT that was intense! SOme very large animal )lion?) was going batshit crazy right into the mic and there were shouts to get it away from whatever it was doing. TOTALLY nuts soudn wise -- action took place off camera. SOunded as if the animal had landed right in the observation platform with the camera.

It;'s a lion! He;s drinking right now.

5. I've seen them a few times now and this

is the first time I ever heard them. I hear some grunts and growls. Too bad nobody's manning the camera.

3. Yep, a male lion. The "voices"

you hear are probably baboons. Sometimes they sound like a man yelling. Weird sound, to say the least. If I'd never heard it before I think it was a man.

Now that I think of it, could be. Mom and I have had the cam on all day in the background, just listening for unusual sounds.

It started with just what we thought were cat yummy sounds ("purring", slurping, licking of chops) and then it went into full-on Wild Kingdom mode with the most terrifying sounds -- like something was being eating alive! It was truly spine chilling. Then the "voice" started calling -- sure sounded like a man at first.

Sounds like the birds are coming alive -- dawn must be coming.

Today was a good day -- sawe two prides of lions earlier and a giraffe. Tonight was a little more "real" than I expected. :D

9. The "men" trying to chase it

away was baboon warning cries. I went and looked at the forums because I thought it was men too. :rofl: Hoping the lions come back at sunrise.

I saw one special where an older male literally collapsed and died of starvation right beside a pride of lions that I guess maybe he used to be 'king' of or whatever. He must have gotten run out by some younger males. It was really sad.
