If everyone in the world, or enough of us, believed something was true

would come to pass, would happen - would it be so? Could the sheer belief in something, anything really, magnified in the extreme, be brought into reality? Can mankind create its own reality through sheer will? For example, I've read over and over again that if you just think "rich" you'll become rich. That you are, and your reality is, what you think, day in and day out. I've read that this is possible through faith, or belief, or tapping into the collective consciousness, or using the little acknowledged, hidden powers of your sub-conscious mind. A simple example would be to tell yourself to awaken at a specific time, and that seems to work. Could it work on a larger, possibly limitless scale?
