I think I've turned my right-wing sister-in-law against the war! |
|
Actually, she is fairly apolitical; she just doesn't know that much about politics. But she comes from my wife's ultra-right-wing family, so she seems to follow the crowd.
I was showing her my library tonight at our Christmas Eve get-together at my place. She saw my framed photo of me with my tank crew in Gulf War I (I've posted the pic here several times). She said: "Aren't you glad you're not over there this time?"
I said: "Hell yes!" Then I told her how bogus the war was, and that B*sh and Cheney, two old oilmen, just drummed up the war in order to get the oil.
She agreed and said she hopes the troops come home soon.
The tide has definitely turned against Bush and Co.! :bounce::bounce::bounce:

Good for your sister.
Most people are apolitical (at least most people I know are). And if you bring up an issue that hasn't been pounded into their head that it's wrong (i.e. abortion and homosexuality), they'll most likely like the liberal side (i.e. at church we were talking about Darfur and all of the people said that we needed to do something about it and not ignore the genocide any longer).

3. Hell, CONGRESS has turned against Bush |
|
Expect the next congress to agree on little, except on stopping the troop increase. Very few are for it.
