I've heard they make good doorstops, but I'm not letting my doors touch it either. :hi:

2. Its good for people with intestinal disease |
|
My co-worker told me this story- his brother was in the military, and everyone in his unit was sick with diarreah and vomiting. Well, mom sent him a fruitcake and he ate a piece- and he recovered from being sick faster than anyone else. They wrote and asked for MORE of his mother's fruitcake and she was happy to send it. This is the kind of stuff that's been aged for a while, its quite heavy, and usually goes in the regifting pile.
But it really made the troops get well faster- scared the virus right out of them, I guess.

3. well I love fruitcake! |

My mother used to give me a lovely fruitcake every Christmas. I have not had one since she passed away in 1997.
I may just have to get one.

4. Really? What do you love about it? |
|
I'm really curious, because I have a huge sweet tooth, and I find fruitcake repulsive.

I think of fruitcake as the original energy bar designed to tide one over during the cold months.
I suggest you toss that soggy cake out because it's not genuine fruitcake.

12. The more unnatural color the candied fruit is, the better it tastes! |

A properly made fruitcake is a thing of joy forever.
A badly made fruitcake is a sin unto God and society.

I have had some cheap ones that weren't very good. Our local bakery Nickles has very good fruit cake.

11. Possibly a badly baked fruitcake? |
|
The fruitcakes I've had were dense, firm, and spiked. I don't eat them often but when I do they are OK!
