Ever see "Mussolini and I" |
|
Starring Susan Sarandon and Anthony Hopkins. I'm halfway through the 4 hours and I have a few nitpicks, but it is generally good!
The few nitpicks I have are the scenes depicting Hitlers talk with Hopkins character over dinner right at the beginning. According to Albert Speer, in his book "Inside the Third Reich", Hitler was not only very adverse to talking political at the dinner table, but an Italian foreign minister would not be sitting in the 1st position at his right side, that space was reserved for the super-favored of the moment. Often times not even Eva Braun sat next to him at large dinners.
Also the scene depicting Hopkin, Sarandon and family at the beach when the bombing of Rome started. The planes looked much like fighter to me, rather than bombers... Like I said, nitpick.
Good flick, overall.
