1. Thanks for your comments, MsKandice01. I missed several previews and
we're making plans to see it in the coming week.

Most of the local reviewers liked it! One reviewer said it was Eddie Murphy's "comeback movie."

Metacritic gives it 77 out of 100 (Generally Favorable Reviews)

Here's a link to the movie on the Internet Movie Database:

4. It really is Eddie Murphy's movie.
Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy deserved top billing.

2. I saw it today
and I agree.

The audience burst into applause at the end of Jennifer Hudson's big number. And I suspect Eddie Murphy is going to win an Oscar. (Now THAT'S a sentence I never thought I'd type.)

5. I agree.
I'm so glad to see Jennifer Hudson get her break. I loved her on American Idol and was really bummed when she got voted off.

Beyonce did a great job, too. She is so gorgeous!

7. You know you want to see it.
Boomie's in it.

(And I know you watch reality tv. Anyone who actually "makes it" outside of a reality show deserves a ton of credit-especially when one of their family members has become an internet joke. From what I hear Hudson deserves top billing.)

9. UPDATE: My husband and I just came home from seeing "Dreamgirls."
Edited on Sat Jan-06-07 11:47 PM by Radio_Lady
I'm here to say it was fantastic. Also, it isn't "just a chick flick" -- the movie got a round of applause on this Saturday evening and there were quite a few couples and men alone in the theater.

One of the best films of 2006, in my opinion. Everything clicked. Eddie Murphy was excellent, and it IS a comeback for him. Jaime Foxx held his own in a very distasteful role. Music was entertaining, story line fine, phenomenal dancing and staging.

I don't know what will beat it at the Oscars -- not anything I've seen.

10. *Done and Done!*
Just saw it with my folks this afternoon. We sat as close to the screen as we could get without getting eye/neck strain in one of those "stadium" theatres. It was quite the BIG SHOW experience! :applause:
