Looking to buy my first MP3 player any suggestions?
I am looking to get a good mp3 to store my music on and to use while exercising. Do they wall work with windows or do you have to buy software with the MP3. A little behind the times here.

1. I love my Ipod and it was super easy to set up and use
and add songs and organize playlists, etc.

The download on the software is free for either Mac or PC.

2. Thanks, Lex. I was looking at the IPOD and needed to hear some good about the IPOD.

3. Creative Zen Vision M
Edited on Mon Dec-25-06 07:26 PM by BuddhaGirl
I absolutely love it! It was only $199 (with $50 rebate) for the 30GB, thus cheaper than the 30GB video Ipod, and IMO better than the Ipod. Comes with a voice recorder as well.

4. I dig my iPod Shuffle..
It is tiny and light. And it was only 79$ for one Gig of storage.

Sorry about the dirty hands.

6. i HAD a creative zen mircophoto
until it broke, must have dropped it one too many times. i didn't care much for it, the buttons were tricky, they had a mind of their own, and the display was impossible to see in direct sunlight.

i just bought my girlfriend a 30 gig IPOD, MUCH better all around! much easier to navigate, and easy to see, not to mention you can get accessories anywhere. it was impossible to find accessories for the creative mp3 player.

7. Just get the ipod
if you're a bit lost, it's definitely the easiest to use and if you run into a problem half the universe has one so it won't be hard to get help.

As mentioned above, you can get extras for it everywhere, unlike the off brand players.

PS I told my sister this last month. She got a cheaper player instead. She hated it, took it back and got an ipod video, which she loves.

8. Ipod is fine.
I like mine, and it's easy to use. I have an older iRiver as well, not as easy to use, but it has FM. Do you need a machine with FM?

10. Creative Zen Nano Micro Plus
Never been one to follow the I-pod crowd, so I got this one as an entry-level. Operates on one AAA battery for 18 hours. It's the size of a cigarette lighter and I love it for my workouts. It has an OK FM radio and a recorder. I don't have an extensive music library so the 1GB met my needs perfectly. Also comes in 512MB. It has its own media explorer software, though I have rarely had problems with it.

I see Creative has a new 2GB MP3 player....

11. I'm using a third-generation iPod (now on fifth gen)
and I love it. I moved from a Windows PC to a Mac earlier this year and the iPod was the easiest part of the transition (not that I had problems with the rest of it).

The best thing about the iPod, IMHO, is the sheer number of accessories that will work with it. I have a JBL on stage speaker which works with my old iPod, and will also work with the next iPod I get very easily. I also have a Belkin iTrip FM transmitter which allows me to listen to the iPod over an FM station in the car as well as charge it - it will also work with a new video iPod or the iPod nano.

12. iPod - the only way to go
There's a reason that they are the top seller even though they cost more. Superb ease of use, both the unit itself and the iTunes software.
