On new year's eve, I'm going out to celebrate.
It'll be the first time in my life.

1. First time you celebrated or first time on New Years?
My parents used to celebrate New Years - seems like it was usually at a relative's house so I'd hang out with my cousins and watch Dick Clark on tv. My Aunt Alice would slip us some champagne.

I don't know as I've ever gone out to celebrate New Years as an adult. I've always been either working or had kids.

Now I can't seem to stay up past about 9:30.

3. Possibly both.
I'm hoping 2007 won't be as bleak as my current mindset has it (and I'm disconnecting the cable because I'm sick of the garbage being promoted as entertainment; I don't need to spend $10/mo for mere weather coverage)

And I haven't had reason to celebrate much of anything before. Maybe feigning it will give me something real to celebrate in the end.

5. Me and some friends are flying to Las Vegas
for the round of weekend New Years parties. You should join us if you don't mind hanging with a group of 20 gay boys and their hot gal pals? :hi:

7. I now prefer quiet nights in on New Years Eve
Edited on Mon Dec-25-06 09:31 PM by Cheney Killed Bambi
Playing poker, and having some beer and pizza. This year, though, I'll be visiting friends in Sonoma county who work in a winery, so I have a feeling it'll be a slightly wilder New Years Eve than I've had in past years, maybe as wild as I used to have, when I really tried to party hardy.

Have some fun Toad -- if you find the right place and are with some good friends, I bet you end up having a really good time.

8. LOL.
I don't know of any 'right' place* and I'm not known for having lots of friends.

I'm going to go out and hope.

* all the places I used to go to were not very nice either... and with crime spreading in those areas, I say forget those places. They're no community.

9. Meh, New Years Is "Amateur Night"
I usually don't like to go out much on that night, but if I do, it is for small celebrations.

:hi:

10. Exactly!
Small, not too loud or rowdy, I think I know of a decent place close to home.

But not the one with the burly men wearing flannel. They scare me. :7

12. Wow that is great!
I wish I could go with you. I'll probably be sitting home on the couch in my pjs with some champagne. Or else (mostly likely) on here, in my pjs, drinking champagne, celebrating with anyone who will tolerate me. :)

13. THAT makes me happy.
And I will think of you while I sit home, for the last time in my life.

You need to fill us in on all the details, please, on Jan. 1.
