I MADE IT! & NO DISASTERS!
Everybody is in bed. Our two-day Christmas extravaganza is over and the chef has removed her hairnet and hung up her apron. Here I sit having a drink because I've earned the damn thing.

Even though nobody will probably read this, my oldest son has asked me to post his "exciting" youtube video. He got a small video camera today and while I was cooking, he was on the third floor wielding his antique sword. We're all lucky he didn't kill himself. Here is his masterpiece, lol.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjX8_pV6yk4

I hope everybody has had as peaceful a holiday as I have.

3. Hiya.
And thanks... I'm feeling very pleased with myself. How was your holiday? Or do you celebrate Christmas?

13. I get gifts and don't have to go to work, so I celebrate that.
;)

It was good. My parents visited over the weekend, their first time in New York since the 80s, and we went to a museam, Broadway show and restaurants -- fun stuff.

15. I understand. I'm not a Christian
but do the holiday thing like everybody else, minus midnight mass. I bet your parents enjoyed the trip. Great food, great museums and well, I've never been to a play on Broadway or off-Broadway for that matter. Some day. Glad you had time off work. :hi:

And I saw Manhattan for four days in a row, which was nice, since I rarely make it out there. :hi:

Manhattan as a rich boy. When he brought me home his mother, who at the time was a curator at one of the museums (can't recall which one and perhaps this is a freudian thing,) well, she hated me. But Daddy thought I was great and took us out to wonderful restaurants. In fact I had my first Indian food there, while watching dancers. It was wonderful. Went to the Guggenheim and loved it. Unfortunately the feeling I remember is feeling inadequate because I was not either wealthy or cultured enough for the Golden Boy I was dating. Some day I will go back, luminous in all my glory and prove my worth :P

On edit: this is possibly the most badly-phrased, pointless post of all time. I'm going to allow it to stand however because I care but only just so much.

:) But I haven't clicked the youtube link yet.

I received a digital video camera for Christmas, so one day I might have my own youtube offering.

(I'm typing on Ambien again. I'd better go to bed.)

5. that video is awesome
Your son is so talented, I bet he had a blast making it. Thank goodness the sword was fake, lol. It makes it even funnier thinking about that yoga routine he did for you the other day. He really has talent, does he do any acting in school plays and stuff?

I am glad to hear you had a good holiday. (Still no MIL? Hope so.) I am so glad it's over. Getting ready to head into the tub but I saw this and just wanted to watch the video and say :hi:

Different son... the yoga son is seven and Juergen is thirteen. It's a silly video but he's proud!

No MIL; instead my parents who are from Oregon, invited themselves for Christmas. It's been good. When you are able to DU again, tell me how things went on your end.

It's an old mattress. That's all that's upstairs because it's cleared out for the move. Normally the mattress is up against the wall.

I wish you a very good evening and hope you are well

Unfortunately, I can't watch the your son's video as I'm on my Dad's ancient dial-up computer (I'll definately watch it when I get home though!)

12. Hi Angel!
I haven't had ten minutes to myself over the last few days. I'm happy to hear you are surviving and empathize with wanting the time w/out you know who. Mine asked to sleep in the same bed last night "because it was Christmas... no 'funny business'". I had to say no, and was perfectly content to sleep alone as always. I'm in a good place and sure would like to see you happier in your situation. Eventually, somehow, you will be.

I miss you too! We'll have to compare notes when we both have time & good computer access. :pals: :loveya:

He sounds like my kind of kid. Juergen is apolitical although he hates Bush of course. My daughter is staunchly anti-war and has made speeches at local anti-war rallies though she's only fifteen. We are doing something right? :yourock:

Edited on Tue Dec-26-06 12:55 AM by CC
Beau was anti-bush before bush was a threat. Course so was his mom, dad and grandmom. Grandmom was looking into moving to Vancouver in case in 99. Juergen isn't really apolitical if he hates Bush you know. I am betting Juergen is different and not afraid of that, the political will come later and anyone that dares to be different is not going to follow a right wing path. Looks like you allow him to be himself and that is most of the battle. If the 'rents can allow a person to be who they are why would they allow anyone else to tell them they should follow?
