I saw 'Lady in the Water' last night.
What a snoozefest that was.

I knew when I saw the animated prologue that I would not care what happened in that movie.

2. I knew it wouldn't be good.
But I had no idea how BAD it would be. Here's hoping that M. Night's next film heads back to Creepytown.

Until then, I strongly recommend "Children of Men." Besides "Departed", it's the best film of the year.

4. I'm so sorry.
It's a completely uninteresting waste of time, but the animated intro really pushed it over the edge.

6. I thought it was an excellent movie.
Quirky characters in a supernatural tale of life and death. Noises that you think you were just your imagination are part of the world we just dont notice. Deadly evil that passes for ordinary, deary life. Simple acts of kindness that have profound effects on the world. Children that play bigger roles in the cosmos than adults.

I love movies that challenge "reality" like that.

7. I nearly picked it up over the weekend.
What I picked up sucked, too.

It used to that long weekends gave me a extra movie night so I could catch up on video releases. This past year, I'd end up watching one of my own personal classics. There's so much crap coming out. And obscure foreign films are packaged as if they were domestic productions. So if you haven't heard of them, you can easily pass them by.

he has such an odd and interesting sensiblity! Signs scared the shit out of me.

I think Lady was based on a story he told his daughter....
