Anybody else have a crappy Christmas? |
|
I just got disowned by my parents after my father decided to make a huge deal out of something related to attending a football game. So, because he dominates my mother, I don't get to speak to either of them ever again. Anyone else care to commiserate? Misery loves company, or at least, a stiff drink.

4. Believe me, it's stupider than it sounds. |
|
At least if I'm going to get disowned, it could be for something worthwhile, like beating a family member up or being gay. Not that I have anything against gays, but it'd piss off my father to no end. Why not try it? I have nothing left of that relationship anymore.

2. I voted for Kerry 04. Therefore, my sister does not communicate with me |
|
unless I grovel and call her. My brother is in hiding. I spent most of Christmas Eve & Day at DU.
So, are you banned for life?

3. Think of it as a positive |
|
consider it their loss. Make efforts to keep in touch but if they choose not to, so be it. Go for a run, get that endorphin high.

5. Your mother need to take some assertiveness classes. And you need to kick his ass. |

I'm not kidding. Go to visit your mother, and if he interferes, break his fucking nose. Without saying a word.
That's the only way to deal with a bully.
Do not let him bully you anymore.

6. is this new behaviour on his part? |
|
Or part of a life-long pattern?
If it IS "new" - then he might need to see a doctor.
 either way.
Family BS is always tough to deal with.
