How to make a tasty holiday treat
I made these yesterday, and they're really good.

SUGAR COOKIE PIZZAS
You need:
One batch of sugar cookie dough
One 7-ounce dark chocolate bar--I used Cadbury's, which are made by Hershey's in the US. They taste pretty good, though.
Some assorted candies and chopped nuts
White buttercream frosting

Start by rolling the sugar cookie dough out into 7" diameter x 1/8" thick circles. You should get two or three, depending on how thinly you roll and how much dough you had in the first place. I make my dough from scratch, but one of those things of Pillsbury dough should be okay. Bake until the cookies are firm around the edges and lightly browned on the bottoms. (Normally this means one cookie per cookie sheet.)

Melt the chocolate. Forget that "double-boiler" action. Whatcha do is to put a custard cup in a saucepan. Put water in the saucepan until the custard cup's about three-fourths submerged (they're glass, they don't float), taking the custard cup out and drying it, and boiling the water. Put chocolate in the custard cup, put it back in the water, and stir the chocolate gently until it's completely melted.

Now go back to the oven. You're going to work in front of it while the door's open and it's turned on because you need the heat to keep the chocolate melted for a bit. Use a rubber scraper to apply a nice layer of chocolate to a cookie. This is your "pizza sauce."

Next, put the various candies and nuts on top of the chocolate as "pizza toppings." The chocolate's got to remain liquid so the candies will adhere to it. Take the topped pizza away from the oven when it's done, and set it aside to cool.

Finally, apply a little bit of frosting to it to represent cheese.

Serves one.
