2. Not tomorrow, but soon I'll be springing for a new HVAC unit.
I need a new roof too, but the HVAC unit is a bit more of a pressing issue.

Oh yeah, the water heater needs to be replaced, too.

x(

Why did I do this again? Oh yeah, I'm building equity. :eyes:

11. our water heater is on it's way out too.
Cold showers are great in the summer, but upstate NY requires hot water this time of year. Hard water is hell on appliances. Looking into a water softener too. Building equity, yes indeedy!

8. Yikes, sorry to hear that
that is a lot of $$$$$$. They do have some rubber coated metal roofing material and other types that are supposed to last at least a lifetime. I bet it even costs more though.

I have a few more years to go thankfully. I guess I better start saving up for it.x(

34. You're getting a metal roof?
Edited on Tue Dec-26-06 10:02 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
Because unless it's metal, you're probably going to have to buy another. Then again, you'll probably have to buy a new roof with a metal one too...

37. Well, tomorrow I'll be sitting here at home
I'm working from home and will be enjoying sitting here in my comfy sweats, t-shirt and socks with three cats seeking attention. The next checks I write will be on Friday for the rent, utilities, and a brand-spanking new plasma TV from Costco (the Christmas present that my family neglected to get me this year).

That said, I've done more than my share of repairs on my old place, including a new HVAC system, water heater, multiple repairs from the upstairs neighbor's water heaters giving up the ghost, and insulation (not to mention two transmissions). I'm actually enjoying being a tenant instead of a home-owner for once.

Ours has been leaking for almost two weeks... still waiting for the estimator to come by. They are so backed up after our massive storm of Dec. 14. The bedroom walls are getting damp and moldy. x(
