Anyone see the new "Charlotte's Web" movie? |
|
I took my nephews and niece to see it on the 23rd.
All I can say is I bawled like a lil baby throughout that movie. They did a really great job with the book and sticking with the contents of the book.
I highly recommend it for anyone and everyone!

1. Haven't seen it yet, but |
|
It actually looked like a descent movie compared to the book. It actually looked like it was true to the book, contrary to what I've heard about Eragon. Though I still plan on catching it on DVD rental, but it still looked like one of the better movies that have been out as of lately.

2. Really enjoyed it, AND that terrific song, "Ordinary Miracle," should be |
|
song of the year. At least it's my current fave. Haven't seen "Dreamgirls" yet, but I'm sure there's a song nominee in there, too.

and you are correct with what happened in the book. I thought Julia Roberts was a great choice for Charlotte, but the best casting was Steve Buscemi as Templeton the rat. He carried that one off like a charm!

5. My local paper gave it 5 out of 5 stars |
|
My almost 4 year old daughter went with my Mom last week and they both liked it.
It has not done too well at the box office, though.

8. I saw it yesterday with the kids and really loved it |
|
There were many sniffles throughout the theater, mine included. I really liked Sam Shepard's Narration. Charlotte's Web is one of the greatest books of the 20th Century, IMHO, because of its well written prose telling a story of the highest moral character. I think I cried as much because of the goodness of Charlotte, Wilbur and Fern as the obvious sadness at the inevitable ending. I had many of the same sort of feelings about the movie Babe, the themes of kindness and loyalty upsetting what was an accepted norm and how kindness is the primary transforming agent for making a better Farm, County, Valley, State, Nation, World.

|
you actually wonder how they got the animals to "act"! LOL

10. Yes, I did! I loved it! |
|
I went along on a field trip with grades K, 1, and 2. The children loved it. It totally kept their attention. I would highly recommend it, even for older kids.
