I used to love painting them...always wanted to get back into it, just never did. I do have a bunch of unpainted stuff but my plans are to someday pick up the ol' brushes again. I thought I saw an online Citadel linc which featured the catalogues going back to the early-mid '80s. It seemed to me that some of those figurines were still in stock. Amazed as hell at that bid though. $18.50 for 5 badly painted figurines is absolutely amazing. I must be missing out on something here, maybe those were the rarer pieces from the Citadel Warhammer collection.

But, Chaos Dwarves were not released in the last version of Warhammer (meaning the 6th edition, which went until they recently released 7th edition a month or two back) So, there has not been a new official version of Chaos Dwarves since probably the 90s, other than crewing of the Chaos Hellcannon. They didn't even rate Dogs of War status in 6E, and I don't think they even got PDF rules on the GW website. I think the price is due to the fact they still have a small, but loyal, band of CD players.

I haven't been into minis for that long - probably since '99 or so. I was a pretty good painter in the beginning, but since I got married in 2001, my painting time went way downhill, and when I became a dad in 2003, my painting has come to a screeching halt. The only way I get anything painted now is to pay somebody to do it for me.

Ah then that explains it. That price had to be that high for a reason. You are quite welcome to continue discussion via pm but I am leaving for the day, may take a bit for me to get back to you... I didn't recognize any of those charactors from my own collection. I know I have a lot of Dwarves, perhaps 30 or so are of the Citadel Warhammer variety. I know I have a few who opperate cannons and it seems to me that the crossbow guys had plastic crossbows and/or shields...I could be mixing them up with my orcs though. (Got a bunch of them as well as goblins and elves. It's been awhile since I looked through those old boxes I squirreled them away in years ago.
