Poll question: given the opportunity, would you ever consume human flesh?
and i'm not talking about stranded on some deserted island eating your dead comrades type of thing - say you were in some cannibal village somewhere and were offered a bite of human...someone you never knew or met or anything

would curiosity get the best of you....would you bite?

1. You mean 'consume', as we might a sirloin steak?
And not lick it like a tootsie pop?

5. Maori thoughts on cannibalism...

confessed in his moments of nostalgia that what he most regretted in the country from which he was absent was the feast of human flesh, the feast of victory. He was weary of eating English beef; he claimed that there was a great analogy between the flesh of the pig and that of man. This last declaration he made before a sumptuously served table. The flesh of women and children was to him and his fellow-countrymen the most delicious, while certain Maories prefer that of a man of fifty, and that of a black rather than that of a white. His countrymen, Touai said, never ate the flesh raw, and preserved the fat of the rump for the purpose of dressing their sweet potatoes...

Dr. Felix Maynard & Alexandre Dumas, The Whalers, Hutchinson, 1937

Myself? I'd be eaten first.

6. Ick.
I'm a long time vegan, so the very thought is sickening.

If, by some horrible tragedy, I was in a situation where people had to consider eating each other to survive I'd volunteer. I'd rather be the meal than the one eating it.

I'm relieved.

By the way, I just couldn't vote in this poll.

7. Pasture raised? Organic?

If your scenario were remotely possible, I suppose I would have to try it if there were no polite (or safe! ha) way to decline.
