Have a beer with me?
I'm drinking a Kerkom Brewery ale called Winterkoninkske...Winter King.
It's brewed with juniper berries; but it isn't overbearingly sweet.

How about you?

30. I did a kind of Imperial Stout for the holidays
using a Belgian yeast strain, back in June. It has mellowed quite a bit more than I expected
with age, but is still very enjoyable. As it's now lager brewing season (and as I have the week
off from work!), I have a Bohemian Pilsener set up to brew tomorrow.

40. Vodka...
I prefer vodka to beer, so I'm celebrating coming home to L.A. with vodka (100 proof Stoli) and Diet Sunkist. I went home for christmas, and the place my dad lives is dry (wtf?), so this makes up for it.

I wish I could find a beer I really liked. In the mood I can drink Red Stripe, or Hornsby's Amber Ale, but most beer makes me full before I feel anything. Boo!

I'd love to have a beer with you!

What I've had so far this holiday: Corsendonk Christmas Ale ( my favorite) (not too hoppy, not too tart, just right!)

Penn Brewery St. Nicholas Bock (pretty good, with a bit of a bite)

and I still have a bottle of Rogue Ale's Santa's Private Reserve in waiting.

47. I've cracked a few cans of Dale's Pale Ale
it is the best beer in a can, and beats most bottled domestics as well. It punches a decent 6% +/- abv. It is, as the label says, "one hoppy mutha of a pale ale". To boot, it is also cheap- $12.99 for a 12 pack of cans. Plus, the company is a big recycler and is environmentally friendly.
I also LOVE the Belgium and German trappist beers, but you can't beat a cheap, great can o' domestic.

Oh yes, I am buzzed

Cheers to you and yours and the hopes that 2007 will be better than 2006 (it already looks better from here). I'm sending 2006 out in a yellow foamy head. (it really sucked...divorce, job, etc)

58. In D.C. there's a good one, but the local laws concerning
growlers are stupid enough to have basically killed off the trade. Worse still, a new no-smoking law will keep me from going (I can refrain from smoking most of the day unless I'm having beer - then there's no chance). Sucks. :(
