I no longer have a favorite book, or song or movie....
I have fond memories about my life when I read, heard or watched them all for the first time...

To claim one was more worthy than another would be, to me, at least, a claim on memories, a ranking, if you will, that can, and often does, dilute the experience with nostalgia...

However, I am breaking my vow never to purchase a book as a gift...

It is my step nephew, a lad who is having trouble finding himself...

I am giving him two books that I know will be his first real adult novels...

Wonder Boys by Michael Chabon and The Razor's Edge by Somerset Maugham...

These are two book that I feel will entertain while nudging a young mind toward adult matters...

1. Well, Chris...
Your step nephew is most fortunate to have you helping him pursue adult matters...

I hope he will appreciate, and read, the books you're giving him...
