Beware of K-tel's "Magnificient Tracers" they are a K-Tel cover band that put out whole albums of songs meant for teenagers to think is the original artist. I think that is the deal anyway-I found their version of "Ramble on" (Zeppelin) and that lead to a search. Amazing those K-Tel people

55. Nobody In That Band Played Keyboards
They might have played around with one, but that's very different than playing it! (OK, i'm a little parochial about piano. When i used to see Axel sitting at a piano, i wanted to puke!)

56. All right, well...
I was trying to be as true to the spirit of the question as possible. If I'd said, "No, never", that would have been a lie, since there was that extremely popular video for November Rain with Axl playing piano.

59. I Knew What You Meant
I just had to mention the puking part when i saw that video. BTW: That piano part is something i would expect a 2nd year student to be able to play. So, when i said "playing around" rather than playing, i meant it.

But, you're right. You had to say yes. It would have been unfair otherwise. In fact, it would be almost as unfair as making me think of that Nov. Rain video.

One word. Don't. It will make you sad. He can't hit any of the notes anymore. Kickstart My Heart (my favorite) was a fucking mess.

On the other hand, Steven Tyler's pact with the devil is working out quite well, since he sounds EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME as he did in the 70's (only, you know, less drugged).

Edited on Thu Dec-28-06 12:26 PM by Strawman
I don't think he even had Steve Stevens with him then. His band was bad and Vince was totally fat and winded. Couldn't sing half the words. Same deal with Stephen Pearcy when I saw his version of Ratt ("Stephen Pearcy's Ratt"...lol). It was sad. Ratt with the replacement singer and Warren DiMartini, on the other hand, sounded really good.

I saw Billy Idol the summer before this past one and I thought he sounded and looked great considering what he's been through physically.

You must never mention Ozzy using a piano again! Never! Here's the deal: If there is a piano part on any song, country, rock, pop, that has ZERO 4 tone chords, we will all agree that said piano part doesn't really exist! Deal?
