Which day in 2006 was the best day of the year for you?

Specifically, the exact date that was your best day?

For me it was March 15, 2006. We drove up to the mountains to see and play in the snow, ate lunch up there, took pictures, then drove back 1 hour to our warm, sunny house.

...my son got married on my late mother's birthday. Sad and happy at the same time.

Had a wonderful dinner with my SO after not seeing him for 4 months, found out I had a 3.4 GPA for the semester, and went out to watch "Happy Feet". It was a wonderful date after being apart for so long :)

Dodgers were half a game behind San Diego and went into the bottom of the ninth against them behind 9-5.

Kent homers.

Drew homers.

Padres bring in Trevor Hoffman, the best closer in history.

Martin homers.

Anderson homers.

(These are consecutive batters, folks.)

San Diego gets a run in the 10th to go up 10-9.

Lofton leads off the bottom of the 10th with a walk, then Garciaparra parks one in the left-field stands.

We win, 11-10.

This year hasn't exactly been the best for us, and I'll be glad to see its ass end receding into the distance.

15. In a "big picture" sense, November 7th....

but, just in terms of fun, it would have been a lovely day last August when I fished for the first time since childhood and caught a 13 inch Large-Mouth Bass. Cleaning it was not a high point, but I felt that I acquired a new skill. I gently broiled it with butter, salt and pepper and felt great appreciation for a wonderful meal.

I also learned to drive a pontoon that day, and had a peaceful day on a beautiful lake with my youngest son.

(I still haven't been able to bring myself to take my fishing rod and gear out of my car, "just in case." :+ )
