I know that my rescue cat, Molly, has always been very tuned in to how I'm feeling and what I'm thinking and reacts accordingly. She also seems to know, although my daughter almost never gets home from work at the same time, exactly when my daughter is coming home, usually about fifteen or twenty minutes before she actually does.

1. My childhood dog did that.
My mother worked all sorts of odd hours and the dog always knew when she was leaving work. Every single day that dog would go sit by the back door starting about 20 minutes before mom came in the back door.

2. If anyone in the family is injured
Our little dog Luna will curl up next to the part that hurts or if we are sick she will lay against your stomach.

Many years ago in high school I had a rather odd friend. We had one dog who would hide before he arrived. She didn't have to see or hear him, he could be a couple of blocks away and she would get anxious and hide. We always knew when he was coming by her reaction.

9. My previous dog, a Dachshund, seemed to have a very keen sense
She seemed to always sense when things were wrong, long before we ever knew what was coming. Two particular instances come to mind right now.

My daughter was out with some friends on Halloween night and, around 10 p.m., Midget started whining softly and pacing around. At first, I thought there might be a stray cat outside, as we lived in an area where there were a fairly steady stream of stray cats who would just stroll onto our porch. I looked around outside and there was nothing there. I tried to calm her down, distract her with treats, etc., but she just got more and more agitated. At 10:30, we got a call that my daughter was in a car accident and was en route to the hospital.

Another time, it was mid-afternoon and my ex-boyfriend had just woke up... he worked third shift, so this was normal for him. Midget got really antsy and, every time I tried to walk out of the room we all were in, would start whining and crying, trying to lead me back in the room. Now, keep in mind that this was a guy who had NEVER had a seizure in his entire life... at 4 p.m. on the dot, he went into a grand mal seizure and, fortunately, as freaked out and surprised as I was, I was there to help and keep him from doing too much damage to himself. The weird thing is, the dog calmed down during the seizure... sat there calmly and watched and didn't bark and carry on, as I would have expected her to do.

I suppose it could all be a coincidence, but I've always believed that dog was just so tuned into all of us that she could sense when bad things were going to happen to us.

3. Yes
I'm eating a apple turnover from La Bou and my Sara is willing me with her mind to give her some. I know, she's looking at me right now.

4. Haha, not my cat
If I come home unexpectedly I always surprise him--he sleeps under the covers of my bed when I'm not around and will come bumbling out, blinking, if I get home before I'm 'supposed to.' When I get home at my normal time he is up and waiting for me. I guess I got a non psychic one!

If I come home at the normal time in the evening, they are right at the back door, waiting for dinner. But if I come home in the middle of the day, after a few minutes they'll trudge down the stairs, yawning and blinking, like "Hey, what are you doing home? How about something to eat?"

7. yes they seem to be
even the birds who are most self-involved seem to have an uncanny ability to hush and tiptoe around if i am really feeling ill, as opposed to just lazing around the place

11. Absolutely. They anticipate our every move.
If we are getting ready for dinner, they will go into their room without being told. If I'm going up for a nap, they will beat me to the bed. If we are leaving, they start "complaining".... they kind of "rr-rowl" about it. They know when it is snack time, feeding time, going out times. They must have an "inner clock" or they can read our cues. We have even tried to fool them! They are extremely intuitive.
