I have a sack of trail mix I've been munching on for a couple days- I love this particular kind (mixed nuts, raisins, and M&Ms), and eat it often. However, just now, three-fourths of the way through this particular sack, I chomped down on a handful and suddenly got a strong taste of kerosene in my mouth! Needless to say I didn't swallow it, and I had a big drink of milk, but five minutes later I still taste it.
Too freakin' bizarre.

2. Bad roasted nuts sometimes have a kerosene after-taste. |
|
That is, nuts that have gone bad. Especially walnuts or pecans. I think it's a mix of excess tannin and the roasted nut oil gone old. Haele
