Why are there no strumming patterns with guitar tabs? |
|
Every song in the world is tabbed online but no strum patterns...
This newbie would like to butcher a couple songs after scales and chords.
Is that something I'll pick up by ear with practice? Or do I need to *gasp* buy the music?

5. Thanks for the musician's group link |

And the welcome. I've been here for about 2 1/2 years. I'm just "economical" with my posts.

2. You'll figure it out with practice. |
|
Keep in mind that tabs are just a guide. Fiddle with things. Move the fret patterns they have around a bit. 7 on G might be easier as 3 on B in some places. Same with strumming patterns. You may find it easier to play with a pattern that isn't necessarily the "official" one. :)

I mostly just use tabs as a reference. Noramlly get the strumming from just practice and listening (intently) to the song I'm trying to figure out lol.
