ones we love  I just don't understand it. Is it because we know they will hurt if we do something out of the ordinary or so stupid and out of character?? Is it because we don't love them anymore??? is it because they don't care...... I am trying to understand. Anyone know??? sorry for the "down" post. But I need some answers :)

2. I think it's because we feel safe with them. |
|
We feel safe enough to lash out at them, even if we don't mean to hurt them. It's always easiest to let go around the people we know love us and whom we trust.

6. Being down is the pits for sure |
|
I have hurt a few loved ones and a few have hurt me. In neither case was the feeling good. If it's any comfort to you at all, we all have been where you are. I'm still smarting over something my son said in public at a wedding we were both attending several years ago. I shudder even now when I think about it. But then over the years I have said things to my parents and husband that I'll always regret. Even at the time, I could feel the cloak of guilt envelop me, but I kept the ol' mouth going. I'd never have treated a stranger that way. Maybe it's because with loved ones there's a lot of history--lots of fodder to feed on.
I sure do hope that whatever emotional stress you're going through right now as a result of a loved one, that it will pass soon enough and that it won't leave any lasting effects.

7. Depends on the situation, but in general, I think we're just careless... |
|
Not that we don't care. It's just that we become so self-absorbed that we're not really thinking about how our actions and words are affecting those we love.
Of course, any of the reasons you mentioned could beapply, as could others not mentioned.
I'm sorry you've been hurt, Lost-in-nj...
