When Uncle Tupelo split, who was better? Wilco or Son Volt? |
|
I think I liked the Jay Farrar songs better in Uncle Tupelo than the Jeff Tweedy songs... But... I think I like Tweedy's band Wilco better than Farrar's Son Volt. I can't explain it.

1. Sun Volt is TOO "country" |

I like 'em, don't get me wrong...but I think Wilco is a far better band. And Tweedy is a more visionary singer/songwriter, imo. The work he did with Billy Bragg on the Mermaid Avenue projects showed he's got more depth than just alt-country stuff.

3. I have one Sun Volt album and one Wilco album |
|
Wilco's album last year and the Sun Volt with "Drown" on it and based on that I would say Sun Volt is much better. IMHO

Though I thought the first Son Volt record was pretty damn good.
